Rotating Tower Skyscraper in Dubai
Submitted by jimmy elias on Wed, 2008-06-25 12:18.Construction of the world's first moving building, a 80-storey tower with revolving floors which give it an ever-shifting shape, is due to begin. The Dynamic Tower, which will be built in Dubai, will feature 80 pre-fabricated apartments, spinning independently of one another.
"It's the first building that rotates, moves, and changes shape," said David Fisher, the tower's architect.

AAI selects bidders for Amritsar, Udaipur airports upgradation
Submitted by jimmy elias on Wed, 2008-04-16 06:31.The Airport Authority of India has shortlisted five players, including Anil Ambani Group company Reliance Energy, top conglomerate Tatas and engineering giant L&T for the upgradation of Amritsar and Udaipur non-metro airports. Airport Authority of India (AAI) had shortlisted five bidders each for the two airports.

Burj Dubai now tallest man-made structure built by Samsung
Submitted by jimmy elias on Tue, 2008-04-08 09:21.Burj Dubai has become the world's tallest man-made structure after surpassing the height of the KVLY-TV mast in the United States, the tower's developer Emaar announced yesterday.
Burj Dubai is now 629 metres (2,063.6ft) high while KVLY-TV, in Dakota, which held the record for the world's tallest supported structure since 1963, has a height of 628.8 metres (2,063ft).

Builders to suspend work

Kowdiar Harikumar, president, and Mahesh K Pillai, secretary, of the organisation said here on Friday that the prices of cement and iron had reached a record high.

Margin Free Shop for construction materials
