Dilip, Meera in Calcutta News

After Kazhcha, Thanmathra and Palunku, Blessy is all set to launch his fourth project titled Calcutta News. The film, shot in Calcutta has Dilip and Meera Jasmine in lead roles. The recording of six songs was held at Kodandapani Studio in Chennai.

Calcutta News is the happenings in one year in the life of a channel producer. Blessy, who introduced Padmapriya, Meera Vasudev and Lakshmi Sharma in his earlier movies, this time, chose Meera Jasmine for his film.

Meera plays a school dropout, forced into the flesh trade and sent to West Bengal at a young age. Other casts include Innocent, Indrajith, Bindu Panicker and many others.
S Kumar wields camera for the film. Deb Jyoti Mishra, protégé of the legendary Salil Chowdhury, will replace Mohan Sithara, who had composed the music for Blessy's first three movies. Songs are penned by Vayalar Sharatchandra Varma.

The shooting of Calcutta News produced by Thampi Antony under the banner of Kayal Films will begin in Kolkata in the first week of June.
