Mohanlal, Meera, Sathyan back after two years

The shooting of Sathyan Anthikad's new untitled film with Mohanlal and Meera Jasmine in lead roles has started in Kochi. The film is produced by Antony Perumbavoor under the banner of Ashirwad Cinemas.

Mohanlal's films- Ali Bhai, Pardesi, Rock & Roll and Flash released in 2007 bombed at the box office and all hopes are now on Sathyan Anthicaud. Sathyan Anthicaud's Mohanlal film Rasathanthram with Meera Jasmine released in 2006 was a hit.

Sathyan in the late 1980's and early 90's, created the common man image for Mohanlal, which later became larger than life. He is one director who understands the capabilities of the star, both his strength and weakness and has always worked out characters who reach out to the audiences.

Now Sathyan Anthikad is sure to give a character which will work big time for Mohanlal. The untitled new film has music by Ilayaraja, with Meera as the heroine and has three other women characters in important roles- Lakshmi Gopalasamy, Sukanya, Mohini, all Mohanlal's previous leading ladies.

The first half will have comedy with Mukesh playing Mohanlal's buddy and has also Innocent, Vijaraghavan, Asokan and others in the cast, while the second half will be loaded with sentiments. The film is slated to release on April 4, 2008, a Vishu release.
