Sericulture technology entrance test


The Central Sericulture Research and Training Institute, Mysore, under the Central Silk Board, Government of India, has invited applications for its entrance test to be held on June 21 at Mysore and some other selected centres for admission to the two year M.Sc. in Sericulture Technology Course commencing from July 2007. This course is affiliated to the University of Mysore.

Minimum qualifications for admission is B.Sc. degree with any three of these subjects as optionals – sericulture/ zoology/ botany/ chemistry/ biochemistry/ microbiology/ biosciences / biotechnology/ environmental science with 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for SC/ST) or B.Sc. Agriculture/ Sericulture with 45 per cent marks (40 per cent for SC/ST). Intake – 20 seats.

For getting the application form by post, send a crossed demand draft of Rs.100 drawn in favour of the Director, Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Mysore – 570008, along with a self-addressed stamped (Rs.30) envelope of 25 x 19 cm to the same address.

Completed application forms along with crossed demand draft for Rs.150 should reach the Director of the Institute latest by June 12.

Fellowships in various research projects in the institute will be available on a competitive basis to the students of M.Sc. Sericulture Technology course.
