Officials suspended
The Higher Secondary Examination Wing secretary and director-in-charge Murugan Assary and examination wing deputy secretary R Salim Kumar have been suspended from service pending inquiry, according to the office of Education Minister M A Baby here yesterday.
The suspensions were effected following the irregularities unearthed by the Secretariat Finance Inspection wing in the higher secondary examination wing in 2006-06.
The Finance wing had found out that the two were responsible for widespread problems in the examination section and were also involved in the misappropriation of funds.
