Navy Medical teams deployed in Kottayam district

Six Naval doctors and an equal number of paramedical staff were deployed in Kottayam district to assist District Health authorities in attending to patients affected by viral fever.

Unlike in the earlier deployment, this team does not include health workers, a Navy press release said here.

Three teams have already been deployed in Pampadi, Erumeli and Mundakayam.

Surgeon Cdr Sajeev heading the team at Mundakayam has attended to about 550 patients. The team at Pampadi, headed by surgeon Cdr Mohapatra has treated about 200 patients while the third team under Surgeon Lieutenant Commander Dange is operating at Erumeli, the release said.

The team is expected to be deployed in these areas for about three to four days.
