CPI grabbed 51 cent prime land: UDF
Charging the Communist Party of India (CPI) with encroaching 51 cent prime land at Thiruvanthapuram, the Opposition United Democratic Front urged the Kerala government to take immediate action against the ruling partner in the state.
''We have information that the CPI had grabbed 51 cent land worth crores of rupees behind the State Secretariat'' and urgent steps should be taken to evict them from the government land, UDF convener P P Thankanchan told reporters here.
He alleged that largescale encroachment of government lands took place when the CPI leader K E Ismail was the Revenue Minister in the LDF government headed by CPI (M) leader E K Nayanar.
