Though the mortal remains
Of Sri Budha had dissolved here,
The soil lacks fertility.
Human corpses make soil fruitful.
The plants and blooms,
And the canopied trees here
Do not herald luxuriance.

The dead, maynot be human,
I am mystified.
The dead, may not be God.
Then, what?

IN THE SEASHORE

Did it begin to rain so sudden,
In this seashore?
Weaving the web with strands of rain,
Was the Time lay in waiting for its prey?
Ah! Does this rain remind me,
Of the lassie of my first love,
Who stood tear dampened eyes,when we parted,
On a dusky, rain dued day?
