Entrance examinations for admission to the Master's and Postgraduate diploma courses
The Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, Ernakulam, has invited applications for its entrance examinations for admission to the Master's and postgraduate diploma courses conducted at its main and regional centers.
The following are the courses offered at the Kalady centre:
MA Malayalam, Hindi, English, history, philosophy, music, dance (Bharatanatyam and Mohiniyattom), theatre, comparative literature, Sanskrit Sahitya, Vedanta, Vyakarana and Nyaya, psychology and Vedic studies; MSW; and postgraduate diploma in tourism, translation and office proceedings in Hindi.
Regional Centre, Thiruvananthapuram: MA Malayalam, Hindi, History, Sanskrit Sahitya, Vedanta, Vyakarana and Nyaya and English.
Regional Centre, Panmana: MA Malayalam, Hindi and Sanskrit general and Vedanta.
Regional centre, Ettumanoor: MA Malayalam, Hindi and Sanskrit Sahitya.
Regional Centre, Thuravoor: MA Malayalam, Sanskrit Sahitya and history and MSW
Regional Centre, Thrissur: MA Malayalam, Hindi and Sanskrit Sahitya and Nyaya.
Regional Centre, Tirur: MA Malayalam, Sanskrit Sahitya and Vyakarana, Arabic, Hindi and history and MSW.
Regional Centre, Koyilandy: MA Urdu, Sanskrit Sahitya and Vedanta and Malayalam.
Regional Centre, Payyannur: MA Malayalam, Hindi, history, philosophy, Sanskrit Sahitya, Vyakarana and Vedanta and MSW.
Those with Bachelor's degrees in any disciplines may apply, the exception being the applicants for music and dance courses who should have degrees in these subjects. Those who passed parts 1 and 2 of the degree examination and are appearing for the final year or semester examinations can also apply.
Admission will be on the basis of the marks obtained at the entrance examination for all courses except MA theatre, for which an aptitude test will also be conducted.
The entrance examinations for MA and diploma courses will be conducted at Thiruvananthapuram, Panmana, Ettumanoor, Kalady, Tirur, Thuravoor, Thrissur, Koyilandy and Payyannur from May 14 to 17.
The MSW entrance examination will be held at Kalady, Thuravoor, Tirur and Payyannur on May 18.
The examination will be held for each course and the applicants should opt only for three, apart from the diploma and MSW programmes.
Application forms and prospectus can be had from the main or regional centres on payment of Rs. 100 for all courses except MSW, for which Rs. 250 should be paid. Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe students need pay only Rs. 25 and Rs. 50, respectively.
For getting the application forms by post, send a requisition to the Registrar, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady PO, Ernakulam - 683 574 to reach him on or before April 11. Enclose a crossed demand draft for the fees drawn in favour of the Finance Officer, Sree Sankaracharya University of Sanskrit, Kalady, payable at the Union Bank of India, Kalady, together with two self-addressed envelopes, each bearing Rs. 10 stamps. Forms will be issued up to April 17. The last date for receipt of applications is April 18.
