C-DAC entrance

The Centre for Development of Advanced Computing (C-DAC), Hyderabad - 500 016 has invited applications for a Common Entrance Test (CET) to be held on August 3, 2008 for admission to the various courses offered at its centres.

Diploma in embedded systems design

Eligibility for admission is BE, B.Tech., ME or M.Tech. in electronics; electrical; electronics and communication; electronics and instrumentation; computer science and engineering; computer engineering; or information technology; or M.Sc. in electronics or instrumentation with at least 55 per cent marks in the final degree. This course is offered at the C-DAC centres in Hyderabad, Bangalore, Chennai, Pune, Thiruvananthapuram, Noida, Mohali and Kolkata and the DOEACC centre in Aurangabad.

Diploma in system software development (DSSD)

Diploma in advanced business computing (DABC)

Eligibility for both the programmes is a Bachelor's or Master's degree in electronics; electrical; electronics and communication; electronics and instrumentation; computer science and engineering; computer engineering; or information technology; or MCA or M.Sc. in computer science with at least 55 per cent marks in the final degree.

DSSD is offered at the Hyderabad, Bangalore and Chennai centres and DABC at Hyderabad and Chennai.

The above courses are fulltime postgraduate level programmes, which include an industry relevant project and seminar.

Duration of each course is 22 weeks.

Selection will be on the basis of performance in CET and the applicant's course and centre preference.

Academic record will also be taken into consideration.

The registration fee of Rs.350 is to be paid by way of a demand draft drawn on any nationalised bank in favour of C-DAC payable at Hyderabad. The courses will commence on September 15, 2008.

The candidates acquiring the top three positions in CET will get a waiver in course fee.
