Diploma in embedded systems design

PG diplomas

The DOEACC Centre, Calicut has invited applications for admission to the PG diploma in embedded system design ED-500 course commencing on August 11, 2008. Duration of the programme is 24 weeks. Course fee: Rs.43,000 + service tax. Full fee exemption is available for candidates belonging to the Scheduled Castes and Scheduled Tribes category.

IGNOU management entrance test

Indira Gandhi National Open University (IGNOU) has invited applications for its Open Management Aptitude Test (OPENMAT- XXIV) for admission to the following management programmes starting from January 2009 and July 2009.

Sericulture technology

The Central Sericultural Research and Training Institute, Srirampura, Mysore - 570 008 has invited applications for its entrance test to be held on August 5, 2008 at Mysore, New Delhi and Kolkata for admission to the two-year M.Sc. programme in sericulture technology. This course is recognised by the University of Mysore and will commence from September 2008.

MCA entrance

The Commissioner for Entrance Examinations, Kerala, has invited applications for the July 20 MCA entrance examination to be held at Thiruvananthapuram, Ernakulam and Kozhikode. The two-hour test will consist of 150 objective-type questions in mathematics, statistics, physics, chemistry, general knowledge, general English and fundamentals of computer awareness.

Self financing institutions

Admission to self-financing colleges will be subject to approval of the course by the All India Council of Technical Education, number of seats and university affiliation.

Admission will be subject to All-India Council for Technical Education approval.

Oxford keen to get more Indian students

The University of Oxford on Monday expressed its keenness to enrol more students from India on its campuses. "We are keen to increase the number of students from India," said Chancellor Chris Patten. He was speaking at a conference on globalisation here which was attended by Commerce and Industry Minister Kamal Nath.

Naval engineering

The Indian Navy has called applications from unmarried men who have passed Plus Two to join the Naval College of Engineering, Lonavala, Pune, and the Cochin University of Science and Technology (Cusat), Kochi, through the Plus Two (Technical) Cadet Entry Scheme for a career as officers in electrical engineering and naval architecture branches.

Clinical psychology

The Institute of Human Behaviour and Allied Sciences, Delhi, has invited applications for admission to the M.Phil clinical psychology course. There are 12 seats. Those who have passed regular MA or M.Sc. courses in psychology, applied psychology, cognitive science or clinical psychology with minimum 55 per cent marks may apply.
