The story revolves around an isolated, old house near a reserved forest where retired soldier Appu Pillai lives with his son, Ajayan. When Ajayan’s fiancée, Aparna, arrives at the house, she begins to observe Appu Pillai’s peculiar and guarded personality with curiosity and suspicion. From here, the mystery unravels, taking viewers into the painful secrets of Appu Pillai’s past.
Asif Ali delivers a standout performance as Ajayan, navigating complex emotions with ease. Director Dinjith Ayyathan, who previously cast Asif in a memorable role in Kakshi Amminippilla, once again brings out the best in him.
Following its successful Onam release in theaters, where it received both critical and audience acclaim, Kishkindha Kaandam is now set to premiere on Disney+ Hotstar on November 1. Reports suggest the film’s satellite rights were sold for 12 crore rupees. With a global box office collection of 75.25 crore rupees, this is also Asif Ali’s first film to reach the 75-crore milestone.
