The wait for Mohanlal fans is finally coming to an end. The trailer of Barroz, Mohanlal’s directorial debut, released today. Scheduled for 5 PM, the announcement was made by Mohanlal himself. The trailer will be launched as a virtual 3D experience, as shared on his official Facebook page.
Based on a story by Jijo, the director of India’s first 3D film My Dear Kuttichathan, Mohanlal has created this movie. He also plays the titular character, Barroz, a guardian of Digamma’s treasure. The cast includes Guru Somasundaram, Mohan Sharma, Tuhin Menon, Maya, and César Lorente, along with other international stars.
Music for the film is composed by Lydian Nadhaswaram, the winner of the American reality show The World’s Best, while background scoring is handled by Mark Kilian. Renowned art director Santhosh Raman designed the sets, and cinematography is by Santosh Sivan. The film is produced under the banner of Aashirvad Cinemas by Antony Perumbavoor.
Barroz is set to be a Christmas release. Initially planned for October 3, the release was postponed due to pending VFX work and IMAX conversion. Since its announcement, Barroz has garnered immense attention as Mohanlal’s debut as a director. The project was officially launched on March 24, 2021, after being announced in April 2019.
