The film Amaraṇ, featuring Sivakarthikeyan and based on the life of Indian Army officer Major Mukund Varadarajan, has been making waves at the box office. Now, another movie narrating the story of a brave army officer is on its way—120 Bahadur.
The movie is inspired by the life of Major Shaitan Singh, the hero of the 1962 Battle of Rezang La. Actor Farhan Akhtar shared the official poster of 120 Bahadur.
“Sixty-two years after 1962, we honor the unparalleled bravery and sacrifice of the heroes of Rezang La today. Their story continues to resonate, reminding us of the value of freedom and the power of unity. A special salute to the team that exhibited unmatched courage in defending our country,” Farhan Akhtar wrote on social media while unveiling the poster.
The film depicts the heroic stand of 120 soldiers from the 13 Kumaon Regiment, led by Major Shaitan Singh, who inflicted heavy losses on the Chinese forces in the Ladakh region during the 1962 war. The battle took place at Rezang La, located at an altitude of 18,000 feet.
Farhan Akhtar’s production company, Excel Entertainment, officially announced the film in September through Instagram. Directed by Rasnish “Razy” Ghai, with music by Amit Trivedi, 120 Bahadur is slated for release in 2025.
Farhan Akhtar himself portrays Major Shaitan Singh in the movie. The film aims to honor the extraordinary valor and sacrifice of the Indian Army in one of the most iconic battles in history.
