I am a survivor too, says Parvathy Thiruvothu

Parvathy Thiruvothu a celebrated actress in Malayalam cinema, has carved a unique space in the hearts of her audience through her powerful performances. Now, Parvathy’s remarks about her experiences in the film industry, including her association with the Women in Cinema Collective (WCC) and the revelations made to the Hema Committee, have sparked widespread discussions. She openly stated that she considers herself a survivor in the industry and shared her experiences with the Hema Committee. She added, “Everything I want to say, I will say through a film,” revealing that she has been working on directing a film for the past four years.

Parvathy also addressed the controversy surrounding her suggestion to have toilets on film sets. She highlighted that the request was initially made for senior actors dealing with health issues like prostate problems, emphasizing that the demand was a necessity. However, this suggestion earned her the nickname “Bathroom Parvathy,” which she candidly mentioned in her recent statements.

She acknowledged the WCC’s role in bringing the Hema Committee Report to light, adding that while the report brought both sadness and satisfaction, it was a crucial step forward. Reflecting on the assault case involving an actress, Parvathy recalled the initial shock and how a group of 16 individuals began by sharing their concerns in a WhatsApp group, which eventually led to the formation of the WCC.

“The survivor’s decision changed everyone’s lives,” Parvathy said, reiterating her own survival journey in the industry. Her fans eagerly await her upcoming projects and her bold revelations.
