“I’m the Reason Vignesh Faces Hate,” Says Nayanthara

Nayanthara and Vignesh Shivan are among the most celebrated couples in South India. Their relationship, which began during the filming of Naanum Rowdy Thaan, has spanned over eight years. The couple, who registered their marriage six years prior, officially tied the knot in 2022 and later welcomed twin boys, Uyir and Ulag, via surrogacy.

In a recent interview, Nayanthara opened up about the challenges her family faces due to public scrutiny and criticism. She revealed that Vignesh has been subjected to significant hate simply because he is her partner.

“When hate and negativity come our way, it does affect our peaceful life. Vignesh faces a lot of backlash just because he is my life partner. I constantly feel guilty about it, even in this moment. He is an incredibly kind person who always stands by those around him. I have yet to reach the level of goodness he embodies,” Nayanthara shared.

Reflecting on her 20-year-long career, Nayanthara said:
“In these two decades, I have seen and endured so much. Controversies have always been associated with my name. The amount of love I receive is equaled by the hate that comes from different corners of the world. But there’s no clear reason behind it. Some people simply find joy in hating me for no reason. Now, that hate is being transferred to Vignesh, which deeply affects me.”

She also spoke about the values she hopes to instill in her children:
“One quality I always want my children to have is kindness. Before I put them to bed at night, I talk to them about it. I know they are only two years old, but I’ve heard doctors say that speaking to children, even when they’re asleep, can influence their development and personality. While I hope they excel in every aspect of life, what matters most to me is that they grow up to be compassionate individuals.”

These heartfelt revelations from Nayanthara have sparked discussions among fans, who are now keen to see if her openness will lead to further controversies or a wave of support.
