The upcoming Unni Mukundan-Haneef Adeni film Marco, produced under the banner of Cubes Entertainments by Shareef Muhammed, has already sparked discussions even before its release. In the movie, Unni Mukundan appears in a never-seen-before avatar with intense action sequences. All updates related to the film, starting from its teaser, have received immense appreciation on social media. Now, the latest update is the release of the promo video song Marpappa. Sung by Baby Jean, the song features lyrics by Vinayak Sasikumar and music composed by Sayeed Abbas. Interestingly, this is the first song directed by Sayeed Abbas as an independent director. Another notable aspect is that the video song is directed by Unni Mukundan himself.
Marco, which the filmmakers describe as Malayalam’s most violent film, is set to hit theaters on December 20. The film has already made waves, with three of its songs simultaneously trending on YouTube. The song Blood garnered millions of views within hours of release. Initially, a version sung by Dubsy was released, but following social media discussions, the team also released a version sung by Santosh Venky.
Despite having two versions of the same song by different singers, Blood remained in the trending list. Santosh Venky’s version claimed the top spot, while Dubsy’s version secured second place. Following these, the song Marpappa, sung by Baby Jean, was released. Remarkably, all three songs dominated the top three positions in YouTube’s music trending list—an unusual achievement for songs from a single film.
Malayalam cinema fans are eagerly awaiting Unni Mukundan’s mass-action entry. Marco marks the first production venture of Cubes Entertainments and comes with the tagline of being Malayalam’s biggest massive-violence film. The music for this film is composed by Ravi Basrur, the celebrated composer behind blockbuster films like K.G.F and Salaar.

The film was a phenomenal success at the Kerala box-office, it broke all existing records in Malayalam cinema until then.[1] It had a theatrical run of more than 366 days in Ernakulam Little Shenoys, with regular shows, and theatrical run of 300 days in Thiruvananthapuram Ajantha and more than 200 days in Kottayam Asha, Palakkad Priya, Chengalai Chithra with noon shows. It is one of the highest-grossing films in Malayalam film history.[2] It collected more than ₹3 crore from theatres
