No One Asked Where My Husband Went, COVID Was a Blessing for Me : Archana Kavi

Actress Archana Kavi is back in the spotlight after years, promoting her latest movie, where she plays a significant role. During media interactions, Archana opened up candidly about her marriage, divorce, and her break from cinema. In a recent interview with Variety Media, Archana shared more insights into her personal experiences, including how she views her divorce and life after it.

Archana revealed, “Every decision I made, including my divorce, was what I wanted and needed at that point in life. Only when you come out of such situations do you realize, ‘Oh, it was just this much!’ And believe me, I might be the only person to say COVID was a blessing. All of this happened during the pandemic, which meant I didn’t have to explain anything to anyone or answer questions like, ‘Where is your husband?’ Not having to deal with society’s scrutiny during that time felt like a relief.”

She further elaborated on how she overcame the challenges:

“Dealing with sadness and moving past it was a journey. My mother, who works in the medical field, was a huge support. My family, in general, has a unique way of approaching life—they take even the most serious issues lightly. Outsiders might think we’re crazy, but many times, we deal with problems through humor. And I can’t stress enough how much that helped me.”

Archana was also surprised by how people reacted when she openly spoke about her divorce.“The way people accepted it amazed me. I received applause for talking about it, and that was a surprise. More than my words, what stood out was how much our society has changed. People are now open to accepting issues like divorce and applauding individuals for overcoming their challenges. This is one of the biggest changes in our society. I’ve always been someone who speaks openly about my life, so everyone already knew about the phases I’ve been through.”

Archana concluded by reflecting on her journey:

“The ability to face life’s hurdles with honesty and humor has been my strength, and I’m glad to see society evolving to support people in their personal struggles.”
