Pushpa 2 seems to have become a box-office juggernaut with stellar earnings that continue to smash records. According to Sacnilk.com, the first Monday of the film earned an all-time record-breaking Rs 64.1 crore net across all languages and took its net total to an impressive Rs 593.1 crore. This was another feather in the cap of the Allu Arjun-starrer, which had set new benchmarks on its opening days. This huge collection has catapulted Pushpa 2 into being among the highest-grossing films in Indian cinema.
The film thus wrapped its extended weekend on a high, since all put together, Pushpa 2 could gross around Rs 162 crore on Sunday.
It was also the second time to breach the Rs 150 crore collection on a single day as both these feats are held by Pushpa 2. The film has also smashed its own records in North India as it is delivering the highest ever single-day collections with the total falling short of Rs 100 crore gross due to capacity issues in several regions. No other film has breached Rs 70 crore in this region and the gap just got bigger with Pushpa 2.
Monday turned out to be another strong day with massive bookings and huge demand spillover, thus practically propelling Pushpa 2 towards the potential of inching past Rs 600 crore nett. This gives it a way to probably challenge the all-time record held by Baahubali 2, though it could be a wee bit early to declare a race.
The film went ahead to collect more than Rs 40 crore in Andhra Pradesh and Telangana on Sunday, after it saw poor collections earlier in the week due to high-priced tickets. Despite its setbacks, Pushpa 2 collection stands at an impressive Rs 178 crore in Telugu states in four days, finishing second to none other than RRR’s Rs 193 crore. The film also saw outstanding growth in Tamil Nadu, raking in a whopping Rs 13 crore on Sunday, thereby reaching a four-day total of Rs 43 crore, which is the highest ever for a non-Kollywood film. Pushpa 2 also zoomed ahead of RRR and Kalki 2898 AD in Karnataka by recording back-to-back double-digit collections. Though it has underperformed in Kerala, the overall box-office trend points toward a long and successful run for Pushpa 2, making it a record-shattering success throughout Indian cinema.
