Anaswara Rajan who began her career with the 2017 Manju Warrier starrer Udhaharanam Sujatha, has since established herself as one of the promising young actors in Malayalam cinema. Known for her performances in films like Ner, where she was widely appreciated, and the 2023 hit Guruvayur Ambalanadail, Anaswara is now part of the much-anticipated 2025 release Rekhachithram. Directed by Jofin T. Chacko, who previously helmed The Priest, the film features Asif Ali in the lead role.
In a recent interview, Anaswara expressed her admiration for Asif Ali, describing him as one of her favorite actors. She revealed that she was deeply impressed by his performances in Thalavan, where he played a cop, and Kishkindha Kaandam, which left her amazed.
On Working With Asif Ali
Talking about her experience on Rekhachithram, Anaswara shared:
“Asif Ali is one of my favorite actors. But, unfortunately, we didn’t have many scenes together in the film. I really wished for more screen time with him, but it didn’t work out as I had hoped. However, the story of Rekhachithram is unique and unlike anything Malayalam cinema has attempted before. I was excited to say yes to the project after just hearing the script.”
She added that 2024 was a year when she watched many acclaimed films in theaters or on OTT, and Asif’s performances stood out for her.

Asif Ali described the movie as an intense investigation drama. With a story by Jofin T. Chacko and Ramu Sunil, and a screenplay by John Mantrickal, the film features an ensemble cast, including Manoj K. Jayan, Indrans, and Harisree Ashokan, in pivotal roles.
