Tamil superstar Suriya is currently promoting his upcoming film Kanguva, directed by Siva. Fans are eagerly anticipating this film, which has received a great response on platforms like BookMyShow. During a promotional event, when the host referred to him as a “superstar,” Suriya politely declined the title, saying, “We have only one superstar, and that is Rajinikanth.” This response has sparked discussions among fans.
Suriya also shared that Kanguva is Tamil cinema’s first step towards creating something epic, similar to films like Baahubali, RRR, and Kalki. He expressed that it’s time for Tamil cinema to explore grand narratives, and Kanguva marks a unique venture in this direction.
A song from Kanguva had previously gained attention, and fans were thrilled to learn that the story for a second part has already been completed, with the sequel expected in 2026, as confirmed by producer K.E. Gnanavel.
Amazon Prime Video has acquired the film’s digital streaming rights. Suriya described Kanguva as a significant blessing in his acting career and shared that the shooting experience has been increasingly fulfilling each day. Set in an unknown land, Kanguva was filmed over 150 days, and Suriya believes the film will resonate with audiences nationwide.
