Crowds at Pushpa 2 Trailer Launch Are Just Marketing, Says Siddharth

Even people gather to watch a JCB in action,” actor Siddharth Ranganathan remarked when asked about the massive crowd at the trailer launch of Pushpa 2 in Bihar. Siddharth opined that such events are primarily a part of marketing strategies. Drawing a humorous comparison, he said, “In our country, if you park a JCB at a construction site, people gather to watch. That’s the same vibe I got when I saw the crowd at the Pushpa trailer launch.”

Siddharth further added, “If large crowds were a measure of success, every political party in our country would be in power. Back in our day, we joked about the concept of crowds gathering for ‘quarter and biryani.’ Nowadays, applause is easy to come by, and many equate applause with greatness.”

The Pushpa 2 pre-release event in Patna saw an overwhelming turnout, attributed to the popularity of the first film. Siddharth acknowledged the event’s success but reiterated that it was a well-planned marketing tool, complete with songs and promotions that drew the crowd.

The Pushpa franchise has set records across India. The first part garnered massive collections, earning ₹95.1 crore for its Telugu version and ₹72 crore for its Hindi version, with a total box office collection of ₹175.1 crore. Reports suggest Pushpa 2 has surpassed the opening-day records of blockbusters like RRR, Baahubali 2, and KGF 2, which collected ₹133 crore, ₹121 crore, and ₹116 crore respectively on their first day.

Starring Allu Arjun and Rashmika Mandanna in lead roles, Pushpa 2 also features Sunil, Fahadh Faasil, and Anasuya Bharadwaj in prominent roles. Produced by Mythri Movie Makers, the film has garnered significant anticipation nationwide following the success of its predecessor.
