Dulquer Salmaan on Malayalam Cinema and Punch Dialogues

dq

Dulquer Salmaan, who has gained a massive following across India, recently shared his thoughts on punch dialogues in Malayalam cinema. Unlike other film industries, Malayalam cinema is not known for punch dialogues, and Dulquer believes this is reserved for superstars. “In our Malayalam films, there are fewer punch dialogues. The right to deliver punch dialogues is mostly given to the big superstars. If someone like me tries it, people might say, ‘You haven’t reached that level yet,’” he said. He added that it might take him more time to be seen as a star capable of delivering such lines.

Meanwhile, Dulquer’s upcoming film Lucky Bhaskar, directed by Venky Atluri, is set for a grand release on October 31 across Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, and Hindi languages, aligning with the Diwali season. The film, set in the 1980s and 90s, follows the journey of Bhaskar Kumar, a bank employee navigating challenges during a financial crisis in Bombay. With music by National Award-winning composer G.V. Prakash Kumar, the songs and teasers have already generated a buzz on social media.

Lucky Bhaskar, made with a budget of around 100 crores, is expected to mark one of the biggest openings of Dulquer’s career, showcasing “an extraordinary journey of an ordinary man.” Fans are eagerly awaiting its release, with high expectations for the suspense and thrill the film promises.
