Indrajith Sukumaran is all set to reprise his role as Govardhan in Empuraan, the much-awaited sequel to Lucifer. On the occasion of his birthday, the team released his first-look poster with the tagline, “The truth will seek you this time.”
Born on December 17, 1979, as the eldest son of legendary actor Sukumaran and actress Mallika Sukumaran, Indrajith is the brother of actor-director Prithviraj Sukumaran.
In the first installment of the trilogy, Indrajith’s character, Govardhan, captivated audiences with his shocking revelations via a Facebook live stream. As an investigative journalist, he unveiled hidden truths, branding Stephen Nedumpally as “the most dangerous man.” His mysterious past, coupled with his deep-dive research into the dark web, added layers of intrigue and suspense to the story.
Directed by Prithviraj Sukumaran, Empuraan is set to release on March 27, 2025. Alongside Indrajith, the stellar cast includes Manju Warrier, Tovino Thomas, Saniya Iyappan, and Sai Kumar, who will reprise their roles from Lucifer. The movie is produced jointly by Lyca Productions and Aashirvad Cinemas, with a screenplay by Murali Gopy.
Earlier this month, Prithviraj shared updates on Instagram, revealing the completion of the final shot at Malampuzha Reservoir. The film has been shot across four countries, including the UK, USA, UAE, and eight Indian states.
As the second installment of the Lucifer trilogy, Empuraan promises to bring more political intrigue, suspense, and thrilling revelations, keeping the legacy of its predecessor alive.
