“I am not here to satisfy the audience who wants to see body ” – Sai Pallavi

Sai Pallavi is an actress who made a strong impression in the film industry with her debut movie Premam. Starring alongside Nivin Pauly, she portrayed the role of a teacher named “Malar” in the 2015 film directed by Alphonse Puthren. Known for her exceptional talent in dance and acting, she has since become a sought-after actress in South Indian cinema. Sai Pallavi’s unique quality lies in her ability to bring soul and beauty to every character she plays.

Today, Sai Pallavi is one of the most beloved film stars in South India. Within a short time, she has secured a special place in the hearts of audiences. Her upcoming film, Amaran, is set for release, and in a recent interview as part of its promotion, she reflected on her journey. Recalling Premam, she shared, “When Alphonse Puthren called, I couldn’t believe it. I thought it was a prank call. I never expected someone from the film industry to reach out to me.”

At the time of that first call, Sai Pallavi was a medical student. Although she was initially skeptical, she eventually decided to try acting. Before entering the film industry, she had shared a tango dance video, which didn’t receive the audience response she expected. This led her to realize she didn’t want to wear revealing costumes in films, as she wanted her skills to be prioritized over her looks.

“I hoped people would not see me for glamour. I want the public to recognize me for my talent, not for glamour. I have no interest in satisfying the audience who wants to see skin. I don’t want such eyes on me,” Sai Pallavi said.

When asked if her refusal to take on glamorous roles had affected her career, she responded that she was content with the roles she received and was not bothered by losing roles that demanded glamour. She believes that playing meaningful characters will help her career last longer.

Her film Amaran, co-starring Sivakarthikeyan, is set for release on October 31. Sai Pallavi’s firm stand against satisfying the “skin-show” audience has been well-received by her fans, who admire her commitment to her values.
