I’m not satisfied with myself – Dulquer on his father’s advice Just do your work,” he says

Dulquer Salmaan is one of the most valuable actors among the star kids in Malayalam cinema. Beyond being a Malayalam actor, he has now risen to the status of a pan-Indian star. Dulquer enjoys immense popularity in Telugu cinema, and his recent release, Lucky Bhaskar, was a massive hit in Tollywood. Fans are eagerly awaiting Dulquer’s strong comeback in Malayalam cinema, especially since his last Malayalam release, King of Kotha, didn’t perform well.

Dulquer has always expressed that he never wanted to progress in his career solely under the label of being Mammootty’s son. To reach where he is today, Dulquer has worked hard, far beyond the privileges of being a star kid. With Mammootty’s years of experience, he occasionally offers advice to his son. Dulquer’s recent remarks about this advice have been gaining attention.

Dulquer shared that his father is dissatisfied with how much time he takes between projects. “He believes I should work more. I take a lot of time to discuss and decide on a project. He doesn’t understand that process. His advice is always, ‘Just do your work. Disconnect and start the next project,’” Dulquer explained. He also spoke about Mammootty’s approach to cinema. “He completes a film, takes a break, and then starts his next. This continues like clockwork. In the time I completed Lucky Bhaskar, my father had done three or four films.”

Dulquer revealed that he has started working on four new films. While he basks in the success of Lucky Bhaskar, his fans in Malayalam cinema are disappointed with the lack of his recent releases in the language. For Mammootty, 2024 has been one of the best years of his career, with films like Bhramayugam and Kaathal – The Core making a strong impact. Apart from Dulquer, Mammootty is known for advising several others in the industry. Recently, actress Suhasini shared her experience. After watching one of her performances, Mammootty called her and said, “You’re acting like you did in your 20s; tone it down a bit.” She appreciated the honesty and relevance of his advice.

Many actors have shared similar stories about Mammootty’s guidance in their careers. Fans are now eagerly waiting for his upcoming films.
