“It is unacceptable for airline staff, or anyone for that matter, to be treated this way. This sentence must act as a deterrent,” the court stated clearly.

The Indian High Commission in Singapore acknowledged the incident and stated that even though help with consular issues will be offered according to diplomatic protocol however, the conduct occurred in a manner that was “deeply regrettable.”
They confirmed India’s pledge to conduct itself with respect in foreign countries, and urged Indian citizens to uphold the dignity of their country wherever they go.
