Jagathy’s Stunning Comeback in a New Avatar: Professor Ambili or Uncle Lunar

Jagathy Sreekumar one of Malayalam cinema’s most iconic actors, is making a remarkable return to the silver screen in a role unlike anything he has done before. After a severe car accident forced him to take a break from acting, his absence left an irreplaceable void in the industry. While fans have long awaited his return, Jagathy gave them a glimpse of hope with a cameo in CBI 5: The Brain in 2022. Now, he is back in full swing with a striking makeover as Professor Ambili, also known as Uncle Lunar, in the upcoming movie Val, directed by Arun Chandu.

The character look poster, released on the occasion of Jagathy’s 73rd birthday, has already gone viral across social media and movie circles. The poster features Jagathy in a wheelchair, reminiscent of the legendary physicist and cosmologist Stephen Hawking. His character is described as a mastermind scientist who appears to control the world in the palm of his hand, and the unique styling has captured everyone’s attention.

Val marks Arun Chandu’s next venture after his science fiction mockumentary Gaganachari, which opened new doors in Malayalam cinema. The upcoming film, rumored to be a mix of science fiction and zombie themes, brings an intriguing narrative to the table. Earlier, the first-look poster of Val—featuring fleshy red growths extending beyond Earth—had also garnered significant attention. Fans are speculating whether Val is a continuation of Gaganachari, an entirely new storyline, or the beginning of a new cinematic universe.Zombies, often portrayed as undead creatures that transform others through their bites, have been a staple of Hollywood and world cinema but are relatively rare in Indian films. Val is set to break ground as one of Malayalam’s first zombie-centric movies, expected to hit theaters later this year.

The film boasts a stellar cast, including Gokul Suresh, Aju Varghese, Anarkali Marikar, K.B. Ganesh Kumar, Madhav Suresh, and Bhagat Manuel. Notably, Val marks the first time Suresh Gopi’s sons, Gokul and Madhav, are sharing the screen, adding to the film’s appeal. As fans eagerly await Jagathy’s grand comeback in this unique role, Val promises to be an exciting addition to Malayalam cinema, blending fresh concepts with an iconic actor’s return.
