Among the most anticipated Malayalam films, Empuran has garnered immense attention as the follow-up to the blockbuster Lucifer. The movie’s release has been scheduled for March 27, 2025, with a worldwide release in multiple languages, including Malayalam, Tamil, Telugu, Kannada, and Hindi. The film will be produced jointly by Aashirvad Cinemas and Lijo Jose Productions, and the poster released along with the announcement has sparked much excitement.
Set across over 20 countries, Empuran has a strong cast, including Prithviraj Sukumaran, Tovino Thomas, Manju Warrier, Shashi Kapoor, Indrajith, Baiju Santosh, Saniya Iyyappan, and others, reprising their roles from Lucifer.
Mohanlal on Prithviraj’s Direction:
Mohanlal has recently shared his thoughts on working with Prithviraj, particularly highlighting the director’s meticulous attention to detail and commitment to the perfection of every character. He expressed admiration for Prithviraj’s dedication to cinematic technicalities and his deep understanding of acting.
“Pritviraj is an extraordinary director. He has a clear vision of the film and an excellent understanding of the actors. He brings out the best in them, shaping their performances according to the character’s requirements. His level of commitment is remarkable. Working with him can be challenging because you need to surrender entirely to his vision. He is ready to go to any lengths for the completeness of a character. The entire movie exists in his mind, and he’s not open to compromises,” said Mohanlal.
Despite being a superstar himself, Mohanlal also acknowledged that Prithviraj isn’t hesitant to ask for multiple takes to achieve the desired result. “I’ve done as many as 17 takes with Laleetta (Mohanlal). Not because of his mistake, but for other reasons. During such moments, I would tell the assistants, ‘This is the 17th take.’ But even in those moments, Laleetta supported me the most. He would even tell the producer, ‘Let him do it the way he sees fit,’” Prithviraj had shared earlier.
