Prithviraj’s Film “Anwar” Return to Theaters

Continuing the trend of re-releases, another Malayalam film is set to reach audiences. Directed by Amalneerad and featuring Prithviraj in the titular role, the film Anwar, originally released in 2010, is preparing for a re-release. It will hit theaters on October 25. In anticipation of the re-release, the team has also launched a teaser.

The re-released trailer, which combines style and action with modern technology, has already been well received by audiences. This action thriller will return to theaters, remastered in 4K and Dolby Atmos.

Prithvi portrays the title character, Anwar Ahmed, a role that garnered significant attention upon the film’s initial release in 2010. Anwar broke records at the Mollywood box office, with its songs and Amal Neerad’s direction creating a wave of popularity among the youth and on college campuses. The song “Khalbile Thee” from the movie was a trendsetter at the time.

The script for Anwar was crafted by Unni R and Amal Neerad. Alongside Prithviraj, the cast includes Prakash Raj, Lal, Sai Kumar, Asif Jamal, Mamta Mohandas, Sampath Raj,Jinu Joseph , Sudheer Karamana,, Geetha, Nithya Menen, , Sreejith Ravi and Salim Kumar in prominent roles. This marks the first re-release of a Prithviraj film.

Meanwhile, Prithviraj is also involved in the production of Empuraan, the second part of his directorial debut, Lucifer. Starring Mohanlal in the lead role, Empuraan will also feature prominent actors like Manju Warrier and Tovino Thomas. The shooting of Empuraan is currently underway in Thiruvananthapuram.
