Actor and model Shiyas Kareem became a familiar face to Malayalis through television shows. He gained recognition after securing third place in the first season of Bigg Boss Malayalam and later appeared on other shows like Star Magic, which increased his popularity. A native of Perumbavoor, Shiyas made a mark in the modeling industry and is also known for his fitness journey, running his own gym.
Although Shiyas had once prepared for marriage, the plans fell through when a woman came forward with allegations against him. She accused him of sexually exploiting her under the promise of marriage. The accusations sparked widespread criticism on social media. However, the claims were later deemed baseless, and Shiyas is now speaking out about the ordeal.
“At a time when I was flying high in life, unnecessary controversies and issues targeted me,” Shiyas shared. He explained that the woman who filed the complaint deceived him from the beginning, even introducing her son as her brother. When Shiyas started questioning her inconsistencies, their relationship soured. According to him, it became clear to his close circle that the woman, who was once his girlfriend, attempted to trap him after their breakup.
“Initially, she tried to scare me into giving her money. When that didn’t work, she filed the case. I am glad that everything has been cleared now,” he said.
Shiyas also expressed disappointment with the media and certain individuals:
“Some media outlets hunted me down without knowing the truth. Even people I thought cared for me were part of that group. It felt like everything fell apart in an instant when I was walking a brightly lit path. Now that discussions about my marriage have surfaced, many people have started calling me. If I were just an ordinary Shiyas Kareem from some village, no one would have paid attention. This gives me confidence to continue my journey.”
Shiyas recently tied the knot with Darfa, a woman he had met earlier during a marriage proposal. At that time, Shiyas felt she was too young for marriage and decided to wait. Now, he describes her as “the light of his life.”
