Suriya explained that after spending 27 years in Chennai, Jyothika wanted to return to her roots in Mumbai, where her family and friends reside. He said, “It’s not enough if only I have all the conveniences; Jyothika deserves them too.” Mumbai also offers better school facilities and opportunities for their children. Suriya further shared that he finds joy in spending quality time with his children, choosing to work twenty days a month and dedicating the remaining ten to them, without even answering calls.
Suriya expressed, “Whatever a man needs, a woman needs the same—family, friends, financial independence, respect, and fitness. Why should I separate her from her family, her lifestyle, and her passions? If not now, then when will we make this change? Why should I have everything? Seeing her grow as an actor makes me happy.” He added that their children have access to top schools in Mumbai, something he finds important for their growth.
He also talked about the joy of spending time with family, going out together, shopping, and bargaining—creating lasting memories. “I want my children to have a wonderful childhood, to walk on the streets, and play with other kids.
