DyeMore will take care of anything that is made from synthetic fabric and needs to be refreshed.
How to Use Rit DyeMore with No Stress

Rit, to be honest, suggests that you use the stovetop method. The stovetop method may seem a bit archaic, but you need to get the temperature up high enough for the synthetic fabric in order for it to dye. You don’t have to worry–I will guide you through the process.
What you will Need
- Rit DyeMore Bottle in Your Favorite Shade
- A large pot of stainless steel (large enough to allow your fabric to move in).
- Water (you need three gallons for every pound of fabric).
- Rubber gloves (to prevent hands from turning tropical Teal)
- It helps to even the color out.
- A wooden spoon, or a long utensil is perfect for stirring.
Step-by step fun
- Prepare Fabrics Like a Pro
Check the label to see how you should care for your item. Verify that it is made of synthetic fibers such as nylon or polyester. You can give it a quick washing to get rid of any dirt and finishes that may interfere with the color. - Set up your dye bath
Fill up your pot with hot water. Add one teaspoon of dish detergent and heat the pot to a little below boiling (around 200degF). This step is important! This is important for synthetic fabrics. - Add the Magic Potion
Shake your bottle of dye, pour in the liquid, and stir it well. The more even the better. - Dye Time!
It is important to wet the fabric before adding it to the pot. Stirring gently for about 10 straight minutes is recommended. Although it may feel like an arm exercise, I promise it is worth the effort.Leave it on for 30 minutes if you are working with blends of polyester. Nylon is faster to work with, so it will take less time. You should keep an eye on the fabric until it is just right. Remember that wet fabrics appear darker than they will be when dried.
- Rinse And Repeat
Squeeze gently the fabric to remove excess dye. It is best to rinse the fabric in warm water before switching to cooler water. - Seal the Deal
Have you got a cotton/poly blend in your stash? Use Rit ColorStay dye fixative after dying to keep the color from bleeding and lock it in. - Final Cleaning-Up
You can then hang your new creation to dry. Now admire your work!
Here are a few handy tips
- Try a Small Swatch: Test the dye first if you’re worried about the color.
- Protecting Your Space: Cover counters with plastic or newspaper. Spills can happen to anyone.
- Use Light Colors : To achieve the truest shade, start by using white or light colors. Got a dark material? Try to add deeper tones and build on your existing work.
