Vidhuthalai Part 2, slated for a theatrical release on December 20, features a star cast including Vijay Sethupathi, Suriya, Manju Warrier, Anurag Kashyap, Kishore, Gautam Vasudev Menon, Rajeev Menon, and Chetan. The film also delves into Vijay Sethupathi’s character Perumal’s backstory, using de-aging techniques to showcase his younger years.
The first part of the film had received immense attention for its theme of social discrimination and police brutality, based on B. Jayamohan’s Thunaivan. In the film, Suriya plays the role of Constable Kumareshan, while Vijay Sethupathi portrays Vathiyar, a leader of a local gang. Produced by Elred Kumar under the RS Infotainment banner, Vidhuthalai Part 2 continues with music by Ilaiyaraaja.
The trailer hints at more political drama and violence in the second part, with Suriya delivering an intense performance. Manju Warrier is also set to portray a strong female character.
