Marco a film starring Unni Mukundan, was produced under the banner of Cubes Entertainments by Sherif Muhammed and directed by Haneef Adeni, who also wrote the script. Released in theaters on December 20 as a Christmas release, the film continues to run successfully. However, following the release of Marco’s HD pirated version online, Unni Mukundan has addressed the issue.
In a note shared on his social media accounts, Unni Mukundan stated that the only solution to this problem is for the audience to choose not to watch pirated content. He wrote:
“Please do not watch pirated versions. We are helpless. I feel a deep sense of helplessness. Only you can stop this by not downloading or watching pirated content. This is a humble request. Please.”

Recently, high-quality pirated versions of several Malayalam films released in theaters have surfaced online. While earlier versions circulated were poor-quality recordings made illegally in theaters, the current trend shows high-quality copies being released. This poses a significant challenge to the film industry. Many voices from different quarters are calling for strict action from producers, film organizations, and legal authorities to address this issue.
