Vinayakan’s Obscene Remarks at a Tea Shop; Video Faces Sharp Criticism

Vinayakan has achieved a pan-Indian reach following the massive success of Jailer. The actor, who has won accolades like the Kerala State Film Award for Best Actor, made a remarkable impact as the villain in the Rajinikanth-starrer. Viewers who watched the movie can’t forget Vinayakan’s portrayal of the ruthless villain, Varman, whom he turned into an iconic character. From performing fire dances in Kochi as a young man, he has now become a well-recognized actor in South India.

Vinayakan’s film journey began with a minor role in the 1995 Mohanlal-starrer Manthrikakallu, directed by Thambi Kannanthanam. After that, he pursued dance for a living before returning to cinema with a role in Onnaman, another Mohanlal film, which marked the true beginning of his acting career. Over the years, he became a familiar face in Malayalam cinema, taking on both small and prominent roles.

Vinayakan grew as an actor by proving that he could handle any role with finesse. However, a recent video of him has caught attention on social media. The footage shows Vinayakan getting angry at a tea shop owner. It’s unclear whether the video is from a movie shoot or a real incident. The video has sparked mixed reactions on social media.

Comments have been pouring in, such as:
“This is a scene from the Tamil film Maampadu Uyire by debutant director Theriyathappa. Everyone seems to have an issue with his skin color. Did you see that? This is his natural complexion. Guys, is Vinayakan’s dark skin your problem? People make him mention his caste, and his behavior reflects it. These people will always show their true colors once they gain some fame. It’s not a random saying that certain qualities don’t go away even if washed. What else can someone without manners show? Dark-skinned, attractive people are allowed to behave rudely, right? It’s unfortunate that some can’t even recognize a shoot.”

At the same time, Vinayakan had previously addressed rumors about his remuneration for Jailer. Earlier reports claimed he was paid ₹35 lakh for the role. However, the actor dismissed these as false.
“My remuneration for Jailer was not ₹35 lakh. It was much more—double the double of that amount. The producer should never hear this ₹35 lakh figure; it’s a lie. Some people can’t digest the fact that I was paid well, so they’re spreading this. There are many toxic people in our society. But I was paid exactly what I asked for, and they treated me like gold. That’s enough for me,” Vinayakan said.

Nevertheless, controversies around Vinayakan seem never-ending. Fans are now watching closely to see if the actor will stir up more debates in the future.
