Actress Vincy Aloysius recently shared her thoughts on rejecting the movie All We Imagine As Light, which she had once considered taking up. She revealed that the film, which has since gained significant recognition, was something she let go of due to her arrogance at the time.
Vincy explained, “I can say this like a confession—my family didn’t know about this. At a time when I was overwhelmed with arrogance, a movie came my way. When that movie came, I realized it wasn’t the right one for me and decided to let it go. That movie is now a film that stands tall at Cannes, one that many are now talking about. The film is All We Imagine As Light.”
The film, which starred Kanika Kusurthi and Divya Prabha, went on to achieve significant success, even winning the Grand Prix Award at the Cannes Film Festival last year, becoming the first Indian film to do so. Vincy admitted that in her career’s high point, she chose to turn down the movie, an action she now reflects on with hindsight.
“At that time, I lacked a sense of spiritual prayer. But now, looking back, I see the difference. Once I embraced prayer, I reached the place where I was supposed to be.” Vincy emphasized how important inner growth and spiritual balance have been in her career. The movie has since been released on OTT after a theatrical run, and it continues to be a subject of conversation among cinema enthusiasts.
