We Decided on This Before Marriage”: Nazriya on Life with Fahadh Faasil

Fahadh Faasil and Nazriya Nazim, one of Malayalam cinema’s most beloved star couples, continue to capture hearts both on and off-screen. The duo fell in love while working together in Bangalore Days and later tied the knot. Their marriage, however, was not without its share of criticism, particularly due to their age difference. While Fahadh remains one of the most versatile and sought-after actors in Indian cinema, Nazriya works selectively, recently starring alongside Basil Joseph in her latest film.

In a recent interview with Vanitha magazine, Nazriya opened up about her life with Fahadh, their approach to marriage, and how they’ve handled social media negativity.

“We never wanted to change each other.”
Nazriya revealed, “When we got married, we made one thing very clear: we wouldn’t try to change each other. Marriage isn’t about changing someone’s personality. We remain the same friends we were before marriage.” She added humorously, “Fahadh Faasil isn’t my property or something that’s been handed over to me in writing, and neither am I his. It’s because we continue to exist as two individuals that we’ve been able to maintain the same vibe.”

Nazriya admitted to being particular about cleanliness and organization, sharing, “I don’t scrutinize Fahadh’s actions, but I have my quirks. I’m obsessed with things being in their place. If something is moved, I can’t help but make a fuss about it.”

On Social Media Negativity:
Nazriya confessed that she avoids reading negative comments on social media, saying, “I don’t go through them, but I hear about them when they make headlines. After our marriage, there were comments about our age difference. Later, when I gained weight, there were unpleasant remarks. But I’ve never let it affect me.”

Nazriya’s Journey and Comeback:
Nazriya quickly rose to fame in Malayalam cinema with hits like Om Shanti Oshana, Bangalore Days, and Koode. After marrying Fahadh, she took a break from films and returned with Trance. Following that, she appeared in a Telugu film but took another long hiatus. Now, after four years, Nazriya is making her comeback with Sushmadharshini, directed by MC Jithin, where she stars opposite Basil Joseph.

Nazriya’s candid remarks about her relationship and individuality have been warmly received by fans, reaffirming why she remains one of Malayalam cinema’s most cherished personalities.
