Asif Ali Reflects on Lack of Theater Hits: I Felt Sad Thinking Why I Wasn’t Getting Them

Asif Ali one of the most beloved young actors in Malayalam cinema has managed to leave his mark in the industry in a short span of time. However, some recent candid statements from the actor have sparked discussions. Asif Ali revealed that while many of his contemporaries and even those who entered the industry after him have been part of great films, he faced a phase where he struggled to deliver a theater hit.

He admitted to feeling disheartened at times, questioning why he wasn’t able to secure hits or be part of good films. “I’ve had the opportunity to work with many talented technicians and actors, and they’ve brought significant changes to my life and my approach to cinema,” Asif said in an interview. He added, “These changes, whether big or small, happened either knowingly or unknowingly. They have influenced how I enjoy acting, how I perceive cinema, and even my choices.

Reflecting on his journey from 2009 to recent films, Asif said, There was a time when my contemporaries and even newcomers were part of great movies, while I struggled to deliver a theater hit. During that period, I often wondered why I alone wasn’t achieving success or becoming part of good films. It was a tough phase. But as people say, God has plans for everyone, and I believe the year 2024 is going to be my turning point.

Meanwhile, Asif Ali’s upcoming film Rekhachithram is set to release in theaters on January 9, 2025. Produced by Venu Kunnappilly under the banners Kavya Film Company and Ann Mega Media, the film has created significant buzz. These production houses, known for hits like 2018 and Malikappuram, have raised expectations with the trailer of this new movie.
