Gowri Unnimaya Clarifies Her Stance Amidst Controversy
Gowri Unnimaya, a popular actress, recently addressed rumors and false reports surrounding her in the media. She categorically stated that she was not the one who filed the complaint against actors Biju Sopanam and S.P. Sreekumar. The confusion arose after certain reports claimed she had made the allegations.In a video message, Gowri explained that she had been absent from recent episodes of her show due to a trip she took to Shimla, not because of any involvement in the case. She reassured her fans, saying,
“There’s a reason I am making this video. Yesterday, a news report spread, and I received several calls about it. There’s a lot of hate being spread against me. I need to make it clear — I have no connection with the case. Many have asked why I wasn’t in the recent episodes. The reason is simple. I was on a trip to Shimla and returned after some time. As soon as I came back, I rejoined the serial, and I will continue to appear in episodes going forward. The actress mentioned in the news is not me. I request everyone not to spread unnecessary controversies.”
The controversy originally stemmed from a police case involving allegations of sexual misconduct and threats against actors Biju Sopanam and S.P. Sreekumar, filed by a co-actress. The case was initially registered by Infopark Police, and investigations are ongoing under the Kochi Thrikkakara Police. A special investigation team formed after the Hem Committee’s report is also looking into the matter. Gowri Unnimaya had previously given her statement to the Hem Committee.Her clarification has been well received by her fans, who were previously concerned about the misinformation surrounding her.
