The release date for Idli Kadai, directed by Dhanush, has been announced. The film will hit theaters worldwide on April 10, 2025. This is Dhanush’s fourth directorial venture, with Nithya Menon playing the lead role. Shalini Pandey also plays an important character. The movie is produced by Akash Bhaskaran and Dhanush under the banners of Wunderbar Films and Don Pictures. The poster shows Dhanush walking toward a small roadside shop with a sign that reads “Shivanes Idli Kadai” (Shivanes Idli Shop). Fans are curious if “Shivanes” is the name of Dhanush’s character or someone else in the film.
Scheduled for release on April 10, 2025, the announcement poster also features a Tamil Nadu state bus, hinting that the film is set in a rural backdrop. This film marks another collaboration between Dhanush and Nithya Menon after Thiruchitrambalam.
Music composer GV Prakash recently spoke about the movie, saying that, like Thiruchitrambalam, Idli Kadai also emphasizes emotions. He mentioned that he has watched around 40 minutes of the film.
Idli Kadai will be Dhanush’s 52nd film as an actor. His previous directorial projects include Pa Paandi and Raayan, with another upcoming film titled Nilavukku Enmel Ennadi Kobam also directed by Dhanush.
