Anaswara Rajan a rising star in Malayalam cinema known for her impressive performances in a few notable films, recently shared her admiration for Mohanlal’s acting skills. Anaswara, who made a mark with her roles in Ner (starring Mohanlal and directed by Jeethu Joseph) and Abraham Ozler (starring Jayaram and directed by Mithun Manuel Thomas), has garnered a loyal fan base among young Malayalam cinema enthusiasts.
Anaswara’s recent comments about Mohanlal’s acting have caught attention. She described Mohanlal as a “wonder” and admitted that growing up watching his films has been a privilege. She mentioned that standing alongside him on screen felt like a reality check.“We have always heard about actors switching between roles seamlessly, but seeing it happen in person is completely different. I witnessed this on the sets of Ner, and I was awestruck. Watching him transition into a character so effortlessly was an incredible experience. For me, Mohanlal is truly a wonder,” Anaswara said.
Anaswara made her acting debut in 2017 with the film Udaharanam Sujatha, directed by Phantom Praveen. Her recent works include Malayali From India and Guruvayur Ambalanadail alongside Prithviraj and Basil, where she also delivered notable performances.Meanwhile, Mohanlal’s latest release, Barroz, marked his directorial debut. Despite its impressive technical finesse and a budget of over ₹150 crore, as claimed by the film’s marketing head Dr. Sharon Thomas, Barroz struggled to attract audiences.
One of the highlights of Barroz was Mohanlal’s singing, which became a talking point among fans. The songs were praised as beautiful by his admirers. The film, based on a story by Jijo Punnoose, was shot in 3D with cinematography by Santosh Sivan and produced by Antony Perumbavoor. Despite its grand scale, Barroz has faced challenges in winning over viewers.
