Renowned filmmaker Gautham Vasudev Menon, known for hits like Vaaranam Aayiram and Vinnaithaandi Varuvaayaa, is making his Malayalam directorial debut with Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse, starring Mammootty in the lead role. The film’s teaser, which features a touch of humor different from Gautham Menon’s usual style, has already sparked excitement among fans.
Actor Gokul Suresh, who plays a significant role in the film, recently shared his thoughts on this project during an interaction at actor Kalidas Jayaram’s wedding. Gokul expressed his gratitude for being part of such a prominent film and reflected on the memorable experience of working with Mammootty and Gautham Menon.
“I never expected to have such an important role in the teaser. I am incredibly thankful for the overwhelming response it has received. Working alongside Mammootty Sir felt like being at a university where you learn so much without being directly taught. Those 25 days on set were an unforgettable experience,” Gokul said.
He also revealed how his character, initially written for the first half of the movie, was later expanded. Comparing the film’s vibe to that of a Pink Panther-style comedy, Gokul added, “Gautham Vasudev Menon Sir’s films have always been a source of inspiration. From Kaakha Kaakha to Vettaiyaadu Vilaiyaadu, I’ve admired his work as a fan. To not only meet him but also act in his frame is a huge privilege for me.”
Dominic and the Ladies’ Purse marks the sixth production from Mammootty’s company and is expected to hit theaters soon, promising a mix of humor, action, and Gautham Menon’s signature storytelling.
