Producer Liberty Basheer recently opened up about Dileep’s personal life in an interview with Kerala Kaumudi, shedding light on his separation from actress Manju Warrier and the challenges she faced during their marriage. According to Basheer, despite their love marriage, Manju had no freedom in Dileep’s household.
Basheer recalled seeing Manju suffocated and restricted in Dileep’s house, where even phone calls were closely monitored by Dileep’s mother or sister before being passed to Manju. He said it felt as though she was living in a prison.
During the 125th-day celebration of Meesa Madhavan, Basheer witnessed an emotional moment that revealed Manju’s struggles. While everyone thought she had left the event, Basheer saw her crying in a corner with her daughter, Meenakshi. When asked, she admitted that she was waiting to see Dileep, who was on a phone call at the time. Basheer confronted Dileep, questioning his behavior.
Basheer also revealed that Manju had realized Dileep’s relationship with actress Kavya Madhavan long before it became public. He mentioned that the issues between Dileep and Manju did not start during their U.S. trip, as speculated, but much earlier. However, Dileep was unaware that Manju knew about his affair.
The producer also recollected an incident during Kavya Madhavan’s wedding to Nishal Chandra, where Manju seemed relieved. Basheer openly told Manju, “You’ve escaped. With this marriage, you can live peacefully.” He implied that this marriage might have led to issues in Kavya’s life as well.
