“Jyothika Hypnotized Suriya and Married Him,” Says Singer Suchitra

Renowned Tamil singer and former RJ, Suchitra, is once again in the limelight after her controversial remarks about actor Suriya and his wife, Jyothika. Known for her involvement in the infamous Suchi Leaks controversy in 2017, which created a storm in the Tamil film industry, Suchitra has often courted controversy with her bold statements.

In a resurfaced interview given to a Tamil YouTube channel, Suchitra shared her admiration for Suriya during her journalism days. She revealed that she had a “massive crush” on the actor but added that he ended up marrying Jyothika. The singer went on to comment, albeit humorously, that Jyothika “hypnotized” Suriya and got married to him.

“At one point, I had a huge crush on Suriya, and he knew about it,” Suchitra said in the interview. She recounted meeting him for a Hindu newspaper interview during the time he was working on a film with Sneha. “After the interview, he kept talking to me for a long time about various things, including his car. I wondered if he was genuinely interested in the conversation,” she remarked.

Suchitra praised Suriya’s charm but added that once Jyothika entered his life, “we had to step aside.” She further quipped, “If a top actress like Jyothika decides that Suriya is hers, who can resist? She sweetly hypnotized and married him.”

Suriya and Jyothika are celebrated as one of Tamil cinema’s most beloved couples, admired for their strong relationship and balanced family life. They fell in love during their acting days and tied the knot in 2006. Currently living in Mumbai with their two children, they are often described as role models in the film industry.

Suchitra’s remarks have sparked discussions online, with fans sharing mixed reactions. While some took her comments lightly as humorous nostalgia, others criticized her for making unnecessary statements about a well-respected couple.
