Nithin Renji Panicker Criticizes Geetu Mohandas

Director Nithin Renji Panicker has openly criticized Geetu Mohandas. He questioned, “Did the definition of misogyny change when you crossed state borders?” This remark followed the release of the teaser for Geetu Mohandas’ film Toxic.

Nithin alleged that the same person (Geetu) who criticized his film Kasaba as being misogynistic conveniently redefined misogyny when directing a film in another language. He shared his response on social media, saying:

”‘Kasaba,’ which doesn’t contain even a trace of misogyny, objectification of women, or the male gaze, was scrutinized through a biased lens. The same person who shouted ‘SAY IT, SAY IT’ and condemned misogyny now seems to have adjusted the definition to suit their convenience when crossing state boundaries.”

Nithin’s criticism stemmed from a scene in Toxic’s promo where the male lead, Yash, is shown lifting women and pouring alcohol on them. This sparked his comment on the alleged double standards.

Meanwhile, within just hours of its release, the teaser for Toxic amassed nearly 300,000 views.
