Periyone’ Achieves Unprecedented Milestone for a Malayalam Song

The song Periyone, sung by Jithin Raj for the movie Aadujeevitham, has achieved a remarkable milestone, unmatched by any other Malayalam song. Directed by Blessy and starring Prithviraj, Aadujeevitham also marked A.R. Rahman’s celebrated return to Malayalam cinema.

While the film’s soundtrack as a whole has been highly praised, Periyone has captured a special place in listeners’ hearts. Recently, Periyone was nominated for the prestigious Hollywood Music in Media Awards (HMMA), a significant recognition on an international platform.

The official list of nominees was released this past Wednesday, with Periyone competing in the Feature Film category. The song is a collaboration between A.R. Rahman and lyricist Rafeeq Ahamed. Meanwhile, director Blessy is abroad, working on efforts to enter Aadujeevitham into the Oscars. Competing in the same Feature Film category are songs from other films like Challengers, Emilia Perez, Better Man, Twisters, The Idea of You, The Six Triple Eight, and Blitz.
