Tamannaah’s First Malayalam Film Bandra Set for OTT Release

Directed by Arun Gopy, Bandra featured Dileep in the lead role. This collaboration, following the success of Ramaleela, unfortunately failed at the box office. Bandra was a high-budget film, reportedly made with a budget of around ₹35 crores. However, it managed to recover less than half of its production cost from theatrical collections. Reports suggest that the film’s total box office revenue was only around ₹2 crores.

The film was released in theaters on November 10, 2023. Despite completing a year since its release, Bandra has not yet premiered on any OTT platform, leaving fans eagerly waiting. Now, reports indicate that the movie will soon be available on Amazon Prime Video. According to OTTPlay’s report, the producers have already initiated steps for the OTT release.

The film stars South Indian superstar Tamannaah as Dileep’s leading lady. The story revolves around Tamannaah’s character, with Dileep playing the role of Alan Alexander Dominic. Dileep’s character in Bandra had a unique appearance. Although the film is primarily an emotional drama highlighting familial bonds, it also gives significant importance to action and romance.

The screenplay for Bandra was penned by Udaykrishna, while director Arun Gopy’s vision was considered a major highlight of the film. Arun Gopy crafted the film on a grand canvas, presenting the narrative in a stylish manner. His efforts as a director to make the movie stand out were evident. Kalabhavan Shajohn played a pivotal role alongside KB Ganesh Kumar. Other notable cast members include Dino, R Sarathkumar, Lena, Ubaidullah, Aryan Santhosh, Bindu Sajeew, Gautham, Mamtha, and Sharath Sabha. The music by Sam CS was well-aligned with the film’s tone.

The news of the OTT release comes as a relief to fans after a year-long wait. Additionally, Bandra holds the distinction of being Tamannaah’s first Malayalam film, adding to its significance. Fans have warmly welcomed this announcement and are looking forward to its streaming release.
