Anaswara Rajan Opens Up About the Struggles with Paparazzi and Social Media

Anaswara Rajan, a popular young actress in Malayalam cinema, has gained widespread recognition for her roles in hits like Thanneer Muthal Nanma, Super Sharanya, Pranayavilasam, Ner, and Guruvayoorambalanadayil. However, alongside her rise to fame, she has also faced intense scrutiny and cyberbullying, particularly after bold photo shoots and interviews. In a recent interview with the YouTube channel Editorial, Anaswara opened up about the challenges posed by online paparazzi and their often intrusive behavior. She shared her thoughts on how the media takes videos and photographs in a way that causes discomfort, especially when it involves specific angles that target her appearance.

Challenges with Media Coverage

Anaswara explained how public figures, especially women, often face an unwelcome focus from paparazzi. She noted:“When we get out of a car, they take videos from specific angles. No matter how well-dressed someone is, if a woman gets out of a car, they will capture it from that angle, and this becomes uncomfortable for everyone, not just me. When people comment on this, it makes me uneasy.”She also pointed out that while taking videos normally isn’t an issue, the deliberate choice of angles creates a problem, causing discomfort to her and other celebrities:“At times, I’ve reacted to it, asking them to take the video from below instead of from the sky. When a man walks by in a shirt, the camera is not aimed at his chest, but when it comes to women, it’s different.”

Maintaining Comfort and Privacy

Anaswara emphasized the importance of comfort and privacy when in public spaces, especially during photo shoots or media interactions. She mentioned how the intrusive behavior of photographers can disrupt her focus and make her feel uncomfortable:“When I’m shooting, if the camera doesn’t adjust, I feel uncomfortable. I can’t focus on anything else. To avoid that, I sometimes cover up to ensure I remain comfortable. I try my best to maintain comfort in all situations.”Her candid comments shed light on the struggles many public figures face, especially women, when it comes to navigating media attention and the pressures to maintain an image.
