Manoj K. Jayan and Urvashi are two legendary figures in Malayalam cinema. They worked together in many films and their marriage was a joyous occasion for Malayalam fans. They got married in 2000, at a time when both were shining stars in the industry. However, their marriage did not last long, and they separated in 2008.
Despite their divorce, Manoj K. Jayan fought for the custody of their only daughter, Kunjaatha, in court. The divorce proceedings were surrounded by dramatic moments, and both parents fought legally for the child’s rights. Kunjaatha expressed her desire to stay with her father, and the High Court decided that she would spend her time with Urvashi from 10:30 AM to 4 PM on specific days.
Manoj K. Jayan was willing to accept the court’s ruling, and he appeared at the family court in Kochi on the appointed day to send Kunjaatha with her mother, Urvashi. However, Urvashi arrived in an intoxicated state, and Manoj K. Jayan refused to send his daughter to her mother under those circumstances. Reports stated that Kunjaatha did not want to go with her mother. After this, Manoj K. Jayan took Kunjaatha with him. The next day, Manoj raised serious allegations against Urvashi in the family court. Kunjaatha stayed with her father after this event. In 2011, Manoj K. Jayan married Aswathy.
In 2013, Urvashi remarried to director Shivaprasad. Over the years, Kunjaatha has shown affection for both her father and mother. She spends time with both of them, occasionally staying with Manoj and sometimes with Urvashi. Typically, children of separated parents lean toward one parent, but Kunjaatha is different. She receives the love and care that both Urvashi and Manoj couldn’t give her in her early years, and both parents now compete to show her affection.
On Kunjaatha’s birthday, both Manoj and Urvashi shared their wishes. Urvashi wrote, “I am so happy that God gave me a daughter like you. Happy Birthday to my beautiful daughter,” and shared pictures with her. Manoj K. Jayan also wrote, “Thousands of birthday wishes to my precious daughter. May God bless you always.”
A comment in Manoj’s post went viral, praising his exemplary parenting. The comment read, “A father who has raised his daughter well, pampering her with equal love from both her parents. All the credit goes to the father. May she grow to be as great an artist as her parents.” Many people, including celebrities, sent their best wishes to Kunjaatha.
Fans are now eagerly awaiting more updates on Kunjaatha’s life.
